Also read: Matthew McConaughey Not Returning for ‘Magic Mike’ Sequel Due to Gus Van Sant Film Channing Tatum returns as the titular stripper, who embarks on a road trip with his stripper friends from the first film, including Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello. Matthew McConaughey played their ring leader in the Steven Soderbergh-directed original, but due to a scheduling conflict because of his involvement in Gus van Sant's upcoming drama “Sea of Trees” he won't be reprising his role.
