The New York Film Critics Circle have announced the winners of their 2013 awards, with David O. Russell's "American Hustle" the big winner, taking prizes for best film, best screenplay and best supporting actress (Jennifer Lawrence). Many favored "12 Years a Slave," "Gravity" or "Inside Llewyn Davis" for the Circle's big prize. In the acting categories, Cate Blanchett ("Blue Jasmine"), Robert Redford ("All Is Lost") and Jared Leto ("Dallas Buyers Club") joined Lawrence as a quartet of folks all likely to end up in the Oscar race, while other major winners included Steve McQueen for best director (the sole win for "12 Years a Slave"), "Inside Llewyn Davis" for best cinematography (a small boost for the Gotham Awards-topping film) and "Stories We Tell," "Blue Is The Warmest Color" and "Fruitvale Station" for best non-fiction film, best foreign film and best first feature, respectively.
