Jonathan Wrather was born in Cheshire in the north of England. He attended Sedbergh School in the Lake District. His passion for theatre and acting was encouraged by his English teacher. On leaving school, Jonathan gained a place at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain in London where he performed at London's Bloomsbury Theatre and was thrilled and fortunate to tour NYT productions to Moscow and Valencia. Jonathan then gained a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and subsequently begun his professional career in the theatre and soon on television. His first professional job was in Frank Wedekind's Lulu which toured and came to London's Lylian Bayliss Theatre. Roles in the West End followed and Jonathan toured theatres up and down the country in a variety of classical and contemporary plays. He has appeared and starred in a variety of TV dramas. He recently played well known regular, Pierce Harris in the popular, Emmerdale on ITV.
